Tales of a Secret Rockstar

I'm so bored of little gods, while I'm standing on the edge of something large, while I'm standing here so close to You . . .

I don't want to alarm anyone, but I may have blown up my car. The water pump fell apart. I hope it's okay. I don't really love that car, but it is a car.

I walked to work today, since I am sans vehicle. It was actually quite nice. Walking and I have enjoyed a renaissance of sorts, particularly since my girlfriend loves walking as much as I do. I might just walk to work for fun once in a while. Except today I didn't bring a lunch, so I don't really know what I'm going to do. Maybe declare some sort of political fast. Perhaps a moderate left wing protest against the use of exams to determine a student's progress in classes. Of course I always preferred exams to papers. But I'm going to fight for a system where nobody has to do exams or papers. Perhaps we can just get together at the end of the semester and talk about what we've learned. We can celebrate how we've all grown through each class. Then everyone can get an A. Except it would be a G, for groovy.

The hunger strike begins today.

I find my mind is so often this jumbled mess of ideas, but I can never sit down long enough to organize and express them. That's a frustrating place to be at. I got a lot of time to think this weekend while I was at Missionsfest in Seattle. Mostly because nobody talked to me while I was at my booth. But they did take information, so that was good. I got to read a bit too. I read "God in the Dock" by CS Lewis, which I picked up in Edmonton. I'll probably have to read it again. It was really good, and kind of along the lines of what I've been thinking about lately. He had some particularly interesting things to say about the nature of mythology, and how Christianity is a "true myth". There were a few essays about miracles and how they measure up to scientifically understood laws of nature. Very good reading. Am I going to comment on them at this point? Probably not. And by probably I mean definitely. But thoughts are brewing. When I have time this blog will explode in a series of try-too-hard intellectualist posts. It will be delightful.
