Tales of a Secret Rockstar

It's a beautiful thing to see your friends doing well in their chosen profession. Especially when that profession involves helping others.

I was at the Timeout conference this weekend, and then at Conference on the Ministry on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was so great to see people who I studied with at Bible College involved in and succeeding at ministry. The paths they have chosen are difficult and oftentimes stressful. But as I talked to them I was so happy to hear how much they love their youth. Every single one of them were deeply concerned with the welfare of the kids in their care. I think that's the single most important prerequisite to healthy youth ministry. And it was exciting to see so many who clearly have that quality in abundance.

I see good things for the future of this district.

I submitted something to this internet writing site. I don't think I'll ever hear back from them. At least I tried. That was really the point.

I desperately hope I'm not one of those delusional guys who thinks he's good at writing just because he's had a blog for a while. It's like those guys who come from really small towns and play music really badly, but because they're the only people in their towns who play that particular instrument, people think they're awesome. Then they come to the city and get their spirits crushed. I wouldn't really mind having my writing spirits crushed, as long as there was some way I could learn and improve.
